Do not be preoccupied with your weakness

  1. Just a note: The word [Jesus] should be included in brackets:

Little brother, always remember that you are truly a destitute and poor soul. Do not be preoccupied with your weakness… It is in knowing your nothingness that your confidence in [Jesus] will have to be really strong.
Little Brother Marcel Văn CSsR (1928–1959)

This seems contradictory at first: We are supposed to remember that we are destitute but at the same time not be preoccupied with our weakness. But the answer is focusing on Jesus–his love, his faithfulness, his power.

I love the smile on Brother Marcel’s face: It shows his confidence and joy. His eyes are smiling too. We should all look like this!
